Welcome to Rick Questions Things! For more information about me, please visit the About page! In brief I am a former Christian pastor (deconstructed Christian, as many are terming it these days) who has been interested in Eastern nondual philosophies for around a decade (as of 2023). After getting my Master’s degree in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary and spending several years in Christian ministry, I had a profound shift in my understanding, not only of Christianity, but of the world and the nature of existence and reality itself.
My path lead me to an encounter with the rascal-philosopher-entertainer named Alan Watts (click to visit my Amazon affiliate page full of Alan Watts resources) who became my “guru” so to speak (Alan would have a great laugh at this!) and a gate through which I wandered into the fascinating world of Taoism, Zen Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, and the nondual philosophies of the east. I came to realize that the dualistic worldview that I had previously held was not the only way to understand or experience the world.
What You’ll Find Here
With this blog, I’ll be sharing my thoughts, insights, and interests on the topics of nonduality, Eastern philosophy, spirituality, and religion. I hope that my journey and the understanding that I share will be of interest and benefit to those who are also seeking to understand the nature of reality and the self as existence.
I feel that the wisdom I’ve encountered can offer valuable perspectives on how to live a fulfilling and meaningful life of peace and awareness. You’ll find me here writing, creating videos, and using other means of interaction to encourage others to explore these ancient modern teachings and practices for themselves.
Thank you for visiting me, and I look forward to connecting and engaging with you through the discussions on this website and other avenues of interaction I offer along the way.
